Philippines gaming regulator PAGCOR has granted a provisional casino license to Filinvest Development Corporation and its subsidiary Mimosa Cityscapes to build a US$200 million integrated resort in the Clark Special Economic Zone.
The integrated resort will be housed within the company’s Filinvest Mimosa Plus + Leisure City site – a 201-hectare master-planned, eco-friendly community aimed at combining business, residential and leisure in the one place. Its features will include a casino, lifestyle mall with al fresco dining, five-star hotel, an events venue and two championship golf courses, with casino operations to be run in partnership with a “leading casino operator” according to Filinvest.
“Filinvest Mimosa Plus + Leisure City is envisioned to become the lifestyle destination north of Manila,” said Filinvest Development Corporation President and CEO, L. Josephine Yap.
“Its enviable location close to Clark International Airport makes it accessible to both domestic and international tourists.
“Now that we have secured the provisional license, we foresee further upsurge in tourist arrivals upon completion of the various project components.
“It is our intention to work with a leading casino operator who will align with our vision of a premiere destination. Visitors can look forward to Filinvest Mimosa Plus + Gaming Estate with its offering of top notch casinos and boutiques, among others.”
Filinvest Mimosa Plus + Leisure City recently saw the launch of its business park and has recently completed and fully leased its first office building, with a second to be completed within 2Q18, Filinvest said. Work on the retail strip and first residential building will also begin within the quarter while the mall will break ground before the end of 2018.
