Las Vegas Sands Corp Chairman and CEO Sheldon Adelson saw his pay packet double to US$26.1 million in 2017, according to documents filed by the company this week.
Adelson’s compensation package jumped from US$12.7 million in 2016, comprising US$5 million in salary plus a US$12.5 million cash bonus, US$4.21 million in equity awards and US$4.38 million in perks.
Another US$1 billion was paid in dividends on shares held by Adelson and his family members.
According to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index, Adelson is currently the world’s 20th richest man with a fortune of US$36.8 billion. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos tops the list with US$121 billion.
