With Sands Cotai Central having just marked its 5th anniversary on 11 April, Sands China shared the joy of the occasion and celebrated the integrated resort’s success with local community groups and their families with a fun activity for Macau Special Olympics (MSO) and complimentary show tickets for some of Macau’s medical organisations.
On Friday, 50 Sands China Care Ambassadors invited 50 members of the Macau Special Olympics to Paradise Gardens at Sands Cotai Central, to enjoy a carnival set up especially for the 5th anniversary. With Friday being the start of the Easter holiday weekend, the activity was also a chance for the Care Ambassadors to share some of the festive joy of the holiday with the MSO members.
MSO children and parents were able to enjoy activities like balloon twisting, caricature sketching, magic shows, face painting and more. The carnival, which took place from 14 to 16 April, featured MSO donation boxes, to give the public a chance to donate to the organisation. The donation boxes were also used for the carnival activities, with each activity costing a minimum donation of MOP 10 to support the work of Macau Special Olympics.
Before visiting the carnival, the Care Ambassadors had also taken the MSO families to enjoy a complimentary meal at Po’s Kung Fu Feast, Character Breakfast with the DreamWorks All-Stars – an interactive, themed character breakfast featuring stage performances, part of the DreamWorks Experience at Sands Resorts Cotai Strip Macao.
“The families that came today had a really great time,” said Hetzer Sio, chief executive officer of Macau Special Olympics. “We always enjoy our activities with Sands China. The volunteers seem to genuinely enjoy the time they spend with our MSO members, and I think our families can sense that – so the positive feelings there are definitely mutual.”
