Chinese internet giant Tencent Holdings Ltd, the owner of messaging service WeChat, is now the 10th biggest company in the world.
As reported by Bloomberg, Tencent has overtaken Wells Fargo to move into the top 10 of the world’s biggest publicly listed companies, gaining 1.6% to reach a market value of US$279 billion. It also becomes the sixth technology company in the top 10.
However it still has a long way to go to catch world leader Apple, with a valuation of over US$750 billion, while Alphabet, Microsoft and Amazon round out the top four.
