DECEMBER 2017 INSIDE ASIAN GAMING 91 TRADE SHOWS across the three days, with the theme of “Smart City, Smart Economy.” The theme was reflected in the nature of the products on show which included some remarkable technological innovations such as humanoid robots at the LT Game and Qihan Technology stands and Hikvision’s new security and traffic surveillance systems. “We have put in a lot of work building the association these past five years,” said MGEMA Chairman Jay Chun. “It hasn’t been easy but we are very happy with the results of our labor.” MGEMA was founded in 2012 to support the broad-based entertainment industry, covering a range of fields, including gaming equipment manufacturing, tourism, cultural events and technology. The association aims to pioneer the “Made in Macau” brand and to help its members expand the reach of their businesses, with more than 150 companies based in Macau and around the world now registered as members.
