May 2014 inside asian gaming 83 T here will be a new WMS displaying a broader selection of games and services at G2E Asia 2014, when the region gets its first look at the fruits of last year’s merger with lottery giant Scientific Games. “We will begin to demonstrate how this united organization provides a platform for world-class gaming technology and hardware, content and service,” says Sebastian Salat, president of WMS International. “Together, Scientific Games and WMS offer customers a wide range of products and services and a deep catalogue of innovative content that has, in many cases, been developed specifically for the Asian markets.” The company’s exhibit will emphasize the enhanced graphics and player-engagement capabilities provided by the next- generation CPU-NXT3 operating platform and the Blade and Gamefield xD cabinets. “These cabinets are currently among the industry’s strongest performers, capturing player attention like never before and reaffirming WMS as a leader in content and innovation,” Mr Salat says. Combining the Blade with the mechanics of the popular Colossal Reels family, the new Colossal Jackpots series will be making its G2E Asia debut with two base themes— each providing a unique play experience and 100 lines of high-definition 1,080-pixel graphics—designed with the Asian progressive player in mind. A number of new series on the CPU- NXT3 platform also will be showcased: Extreme Symbols, Reel Intensity, Wheel Bonus and Any Way. The excitement of the “Iron Man” films Renewed Dedication WMS is bigger and stronger and focused on Asia as never before will be captured on the innovative Gamefield xD cabinet. The new Iron Man slot features a vertically expanded 5x12 reel array with 80 lines, perfect for the Gamefield’s 32- inch LCD, says Mr Salat, and incorporates an array of colorful features in the high- frequency base game themed around the action series and including “Stark Industries Jericho Missile, JARVIS, Anton Vanko Whiplash” and more. The US player-favorite Wizard of Oz Haunted Forest will also be shown on the Gamefield. Leveraging the growing popularity of progressives in Macau is the aim of the new five-level Winning Fortune link called Yi Lu Fa (“Path to Prosperity”), which will debut at the show on top of three new base games, Wishing You Fortune, Far East Fortunes Deluxe and Dragon’s Legend, each with their own volatile bonus rounds where bigger bets increase players’ chances at one of the top prizes by awarding more progressive symbols on a feature spin.
