The company is responding with plans to add to its offices in Macau, Tokyo and Osaka as needs require. “The time is right here and right now for better serving Asian casinos and their customers,” Mr Mishra says. “While JCM started as an Asian company (its original name is Japan Cash Machine), the fast growth of the market requires us to keep Gaining Currency JCM Global knows a thing or two about handling money—lots of money—and it’s all packed into the iV8, a bill validator designed specifically for Macau’s massive volumes a more thorough watch on Asian gaming trends and to provide better service.” The thinking, as he explains it, is simple: “Products are best marketed in the Asian market where they meet a specific need of casinos,” which also sets forth the core thinking behind the innovative iV8. “Asian gamers are about the most avid players of table games in the world,” Mr Mishra notes. “While aUS or European player might spend several hours playing blackjack or baccarat, an Asian player might spend an entire evening. And more players crowd onto tables, which means the equipment used needs to be high-utilization.” Developed specifically with Macau’s massive volumes in mind, the iV8 validates bills at an astounding rate of eight per second, speedily arranging them into convenient packages of 40, automatically stacking them in the cashbox and throughout this blinding pace weeding out suspect notes and directing them into a separate tray that holds up to 50 bills per pay-in. At the completion of the process, up to 200 stacked notes automatically are dispatched into a see-through tray that is viewed by players with the total value noted. The company’s flagship iVizion with its advanced Contact Image Sensor technology has proved its Asian mettle as well. CIS scans 75 times more data points than comparable validators, capturing the full image of a banknote or a ticket and centering it optically rather than mechanically, which significantly improves note-to-note-processing speed and delivers a better than 99% acceptance rate. It is also self-calibrating so it can accept bills up to 85 millimeters wide and features a sealed note path that is dirt- and liquid-resistant, resulting in less service- related downtime. It also comes with a patented anti-stringing device that detects and prevents manipulation or mechanical cheating. JCM also has leveraged its considerable know-how to bring to market a thermal printer that produces tickets in less than a second. The PayCheck 4, which also will be shown at G2E Asia, is equipped with a full 8MB of standard memory, which means operators can store more fonts, images, logos and bar codes for personalizing the players’ experience. Features include an illuminated anti-jamming bezel that reduces paper jams for more uptime, a diagnostic USB port quick field service and upgrades, easy access to the paper path for fast maintenance, and its hot swappable, so it can be replaced without powering down the host machine. Furthermore, it is RoHS compliant for use in all jurisdictions worldwide.
