inside asian gaming May 2014 76 G2E ASIA 2014 G aming Partners International will be at G2E Asia this month with an array of new currency security and RFID solutions specifically designed to meet the region’s unique needs. “Asia is such a dynamic market, and with a number of new large casinos slated to open over the next few years, it’s not showing any signs of slowing down,” says Scott McCarthy, GPI Asia’s vice president of sales. It’s a market where GPI’s worldwide reach anddeep roots in the industry find it entrenched as a leader in table games technology. “Over the past year, our development team has been hard at work developing new currency products that directly address the unique challenges our Asia customers face,” says Mr McCarthy, who sees G2E Asia as “a great forum to meet with our customers and demonstrate these newest products alongside our full suite of table game products and RFID solutions.” They include 3-in-1 UV, a new security taggant that remains invisible under standard UV wavelengths and delivers three levels of authentication, including a forensic verification that uses Scanning Electron Microscopy, and can be added to plastic injection-molded chip materials, making it easy to validate chips with a specialized tool when they are placed in stacks or racks. Then there is SecuriFilm, a new decal feature with a semi-transparent hologram- like effect that enables quick dealer authentication right at the table. It will debut at G2E Asia with two standard design options. It is fully customizable as well. The company also is adding to its renowned Bourgogne & Grasset collection of European-style plaques with the introduction of two new standard designs: the Dragon’s Eye, a stunning piece crafted with the Asian market in mind, and the Ribbon, featuring two distinct ribbon pattern widths. Both are available in transparent or opaque options and offer several new patterns and colors to choose from for enhancing their visual appeal, including four new “Chameleon” Partners in the Pit GPI has plenty of new innovations in store for cementing its position as a leader in state-of-the-art currency security materials that shift color when rotated and deliver a powerful effect. B&G’s new J3 Hybrid jeton will be another highlight at the stand. The J3 provides a unique alternative to plastic injection- molded chips and standard European jetons with the addition of LaserTrack for identifying each piece’s edge-spot inserts, making them easy to validate when in stacks and racks. Drawing on feedback from its Asian customers and the experience of its development team, GPI also has developed a way to add LaserTrack to the gold lace, an entirely new security option now available both on the J3 and on traditional plaques and jetons. Rounding out these innovations, GPI now has the ability to blend electromagnetic chip detection technology with RFID, a combination that until recently was impossible. By triggering an alarm that will sound if a chip or plaque is taken past a designated casino staff entrance or exit, the electromagnetic feature discourages unauthorized chipmovement and theft, and when combined with RFID provides quick authentication and even more efficient inventory accounting. “GPI is fortunate that as the industry’s largest casino currency and RFID solutions provider, we enjoy a strong presence throughout Asia’s casinos that is enhanced by the collaborative development relationships we share with our customers,” says Kirsten Clark, senior vice president & chief operating officer, Asia. “Shortly after we opened our Macau office in 2011, we began working more closely with our key customers to develop products that specifically address their operational challenges and concerns,” she adds, “and the new products we will debut during the show reflect these partnerships. As always, we are anxious to get broader feedback from the show’s attendees and look forward to integrating their comments and suggestions into our next phase of new product releases.” Visit Gaming Partners International at Stand #547 B&G’s new Dragon’s Eye plaque was crafted with Asia’s casinos in mind “Shortly after we opened our Macau office in 2011, we began working more closely with our key customers to develop products that specifically address their operational challenges and concerns, and the new products we will debut during the show reflect these partnerships.” Kirsten Clark , senior vice president & COO, Asia The new J3 Hybrid features LaserTrack for identifying each jeton’s edge-spot inserts.
