The company is using the setting of G2E Asia 2008 for the global launch of its new Viridian™ cabinet and GEN7™ platform. Viridian™ The Viridian cabinet is named after the Latin word viridis, meaning ‘green’. Aristocrat says the new offering features some major technological advances from the previous Xcite cabinet and MKVI platform, with a shift towards a more open architecture and a modular platform. The Viridian is designed for maximum player excitement and operator friendliness wrapped up in an energy efficient package. It is slimmer than many cabinets currently on the market, but still stands out from the crowd, says the company. The Viridian offers dual LCD displays, but still with eye- catching art work around the ‘belly’ of the cabinet as well as universal game offerings across all markets. Aristocrat adds that the Viridian is also 100% compliant with the European Union’s Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive.This means no lead solder or other potentially harmful materials such as mercury or cadmium are used in its manufacture, making it easier and safer to recycle the cabinet at the end of its working life. GEN7™ The GEN7 platform is driven by an embedded Intel® processor, allowing more interaction between player and machine, including onscreen player selectable bets and credits.The GEN7 can easily be upgraded for downloadable and server-based gaming. Powerful and innovative games for the GEN7 platform include Geisha Power Pay and Double Happiness, as well as a suite of MKVI classic games. The processing power of the GEN7 platform allows operators to run high-resolution graphics, dynamic scorecards (GEN 7 Games) and an enhanced player interface. Aristocrat’s newest hyperlink themes on display at G2E Asia include Viridian Thunderheart (an exciting motorcycle theme), Fa Fa Fa (an Asian theme) and Multilink (as it sounds, a multi-game link). There are also new second screen features, new four-level hyperlink themes, and innovative multi-pack games designed to heighten players’ enjoyment with new and unique features. Poker Pro™ Aristocrat is also displaying its PokerPro game, famous as the first ever poker game available on Macau casino floors. At G2E Asia, there will be a number of exciting new features.
